On April 28th, 2017, Cancer Survivorship Congress took place at the Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU). The organizers were YSMU and the Armenian Association of Hematology and Oncology.

HRH Princess Dina Mired of Jordan, the president-elect of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) delivered a key-note speech at the Congress. During the Congress a Honorary Doctor of YSMU title was awarded to Her Royal Highness for her dedicated service to mankind.

Prof. Dinesh Pendharkar, the Chair-elect of the International Committee of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and visiting professor of oncology at YSMU also gave a speech.

During his speech, the Rector of Yerevan State Medical University, professor Armen Muradyan mentioned the importance of such events for the development of cancer care in Armenia.

At the Congress cancer survivors and specialists shared their thoughts and emotions.
