About the Partnership
The Armenian Association of Hematology and Oncology collaborates with the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) to strengthen clinical oncology education and professional development in Armenia. This partnership brings together international expertise and local knowledge to support the advancement of cancer care.
Through joint initiatives, AAHO and ESMO work to provide Armenian medical professionals with access to high-quality training, scientific exchange, and evidence-based resources.
Educational Programs
The ESMO-AAHO collaboration supports a range of educational activities designed for oncologists, hematologists, and allied health professionals:
- Masterclass in Clinical Oncology — Advanced training sessions bringing together international faculty and participants for in-depth clinical education. The ESO-ASCO Masterclass in Clinical Oncology was held in November 2019.
- Scientific Meetings — Joint conferences and symposia addressing current topics in hematology and oncology.
- Professional Exchange — Opportunities for Armenian clinicians and researchers to engage with the broader European oncology community.
The ESMO-AAHO partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing the standard of cancer care in Armenia through continuous learning and collaboration. By connecting local clinicians with the broader European oncology community, this collaboration helps ensure that Armenian medical professionals remain current with evolving concepts in diagnosis and treatment across a range of malignancies, including blood disorders and solid tumors. Key Initiatives
ESO-ASCO Masterclass
An advanced clinical oncology masterclass held in November 2019, featuring participation from international experts and providing intensive training for oncology professionals.
POEM Second Scientific Meeting
Held in 2019, this meeting brought together researchers and clinicians to discuss developments in oncology and hematology practice.
Young Oncologists Group
The Young Oncologists Group of Armenia held its 1st Annual Meeting in 2018, fostering the next generation of cancer specialists through mentorship and collaboration.
