Conference Focus
The scientific program centered on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of thrombosis. Sessions covered current guidelines, emerging therapies, and practical approaches for managing thrombotic disorders in clinical practice.

The international thrombosis conference held in Yerevan in early 2018 reflected the ongoing commitment of the Armenian Association of Hematology and Oncology to advancing medical education and professional exchange within the region. By partnering with the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis and the local medical university, the association helped create a platform where clinicians and researchers could discuss the latest developments in the diagnosis, prevention, and management of blood clotting disorders. Such gatherings strengthen the broader hematology and oncology community in Armenia, fostering collaboration that ultimately benefits patient care across the country.
The scientific program addressed a wide spectrum of topics related to thrombosis and haemostasis, ranging from fundamental concepts to practical clinical applications. Local physicians had the opportunity to engage directly with international specialists, learning about emerging diagnostic tools, anticoagulation strategies, and best practices for managing complex cases. This exchange of knowledge is particularly valuable in a field where timely and accurate treatment decisions can have a direct impact on patient outcomes. The conference also served as a reminder of the importance of continuing medical education for healthcare professionals working in hematology and related disciplines.
For the Armenian Association of Hematology and Oncology, hosting and supporting such international events is a core part of its mission to elevate the standard of care for patients with blood disorders and cancer. The association regularly collaborates with global organizations to bring world-class expertise to Armenia, ensuring that local specialists remain connected to the broader international medical community. Conferences like the one on thrombosis help build lasting professional relationships and inspire ongoing research and innovation, contributing to the growth of hematology and oncology services throughout the country.
